Early Learning in the Womb (Talk Summary)

This presentation is a long awaited summary of what is most important to know about prenatal stimulation. It serves as a quick guide for parents as to what works with regards to supporting early learning in the womb, and how to practically put this knowledge to work.

Lizette shares genuinely interesting facts about the unborn, information about the short- and long-term benefits of prenatal stimulation that will inspire even the most uninformed parents to want to connect with their developing child in utero, and how early learning in the womb can help to buffer a baby’s developing brain against the adverse effects of an early birth.

She suggests a daily program that is really a summary of natural and wholesome methods that are effective and non-intrusive, according to both behavioural studies and neurological research.

The goal is to give parents the confidence and the necessary frame of reference that they need to recognize methods that are wholesome and effective. The focus is on confidently giving the developing baby more of what is natural in a structured way.

Until recently, reports on pre-birth stimulation were fragmented and often contradicting, as if blindfolded scientists were using their hands to explore an elephant from different angles.

New brain technology now sketches the big picture and tells us what really makes a difference and why. This talk is a practical summary.

 Event Starts:

March 2nd
19h00 (GMT +2)

Lizette van Huyssteen is an expert in Early Childhood Development. With the support of her husband and a team of experts, she founded the Practica Program for children from 0-7 years in 1993: four years after completing a B.Sc. in Social Science at UOFS. Today, after 21 years, more than 60 000 children in South Africa have been raised in “Practica Families”.

As a Free Gift, Lizette would like to give parents a complete extract from the Practica Handbook for the child's first few weeks of their lives, which parents can download as a PDF document. This would give parents a good idea of the value of the full Practica course and the effect that the program can have on both the child and the parents or caregiver.
